A sinkhole is a hole in the ground created by erosion and the drainage of water. They can be just a few feet across or large enough to swallow whole buildings. The cause of a sinkhole is fairly straightforward. It's the stuff immediately below the surface shifting to somewhere else. Although they’re often the result of natural processes they can also be triggered by human activity.
A sinkhole can range anywhere between a slight depression in the ground right up to an enormous hole reaching down half a kilometer. They have no natural surface drainage, so any water that gets into a sinkhole can't get out via the surface and so usually drains downward, into the subsurface layers. If these sinkholes create under the constructions or road, that may be devastating.

Here in this video, you can see the most terrifying moment that a sinkhole swallowed a huge tanker within the blink of an eye. The hole suddenly appeared at a quarry and swallowed up a huge tanker. As the footage shows it was dragged deep underground in a matter of seconds. The dramatic incident took place in the Tunceli Province, in the middle of Turkey’s Eastern Anatolia region. Just think what may happen if there is anyone in  the tank.
